Trackway / Lead Installer

Role Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Trackway / Lead Installer to take a senior, hands-on role leading trackway installation crews across OHL, utilities and infrastructure projects throughout the UK.

This is a working lead position — you will be responsible for both operating plant and HGV equipment and leading site crews, ensuring trackway installations are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with RAMS and site requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate trackway installation and recovery works on site

Operate HGV vehicles and crane equipment for loading, unloading and positioning trackway materials

Plan and execute safe lifting operations in line with RAMS

Supervise crew operatives and support installers during installations

Liaise with site supervisors, clients and plant operators

Ensure all works comply with health & safety legislation and site rules

Maintain high standards of housekeeping and site presentation

Complete basic site documentation and daily checks

Support UK-wide operations including regular working away, early starts, overtime and weekend work as required

Essential Requirements

HGV Class licence (essential) | Experienced crane operator (HIAB / loader crane experience essential)

Proven experience in trackway installation and recovery

Strong understanding of RAMS and safe systems of work

Confident leading site crews and taking responsibility on live sites

Utilities, OHL or infrastructure project experience preferred

Flexible approach to travel, working away and site hours

Desirable

CPCS / NPORS tickets

CSCS card

Experience working on live utility or transmission environments
